Will creditors stop harassing me if I file bankruptcy?

Once a person files bankruptcy the bankruptcy court issues an automatic stay order. The automatic stay order is a federal court order that protects people from any act to collect on a debt, including telephone calls and letters from creditors. This is not the only way to stop creditors from contacting you. Once Reynard & Rice LLP is retained to handle your case, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act stops certain debt collectors from contacting you by phone. In fact, they are required to call Reynard & Rice L.L.P instead. From this point on, we will handle these creditors. You will no longer have to cope with the daily burden of dealing with these harassing calls. Examples of these types of creditors are collection agencies and credit card companies.
